Mystery in the Blood
Kim and Angel are able to successfully cover up the wrecked car and the two human corpses, as well as all related paperwork. As they arrive at Ayers Industry, the skyscraper home to Prince Regina's business and haven, they are praised by the Prince for their impressive work and are each given a new project. For Angel, Regina requested he condition a mid-size car's back seat to contain a cooling unit that could safely transport a minimum of 20 blood bags, if not double that. For similar reasons, Regina requested that Kim be sure that there is a safe place within the secret Kindred "blood bank" at Mount Sinai hospital for a higher influx of blood bags.
Felix visits the Kindred-and-retainer-only bar, The Wolf's Den, with Jocelyn. Jocelyn introduces Felix to Valentine, a Kindred of clearly charismatic and popular presence within the bar. After a member of his entourage feeds rather viciously on a human herd member, a nearby patron frenzies and attacks the young woman. Jocelyn attempts to get the young woman to safety as Felix helps Valentine subdue the frenzied Kindred and lock him in a closet. Valentine tells him to head to the chantry and tell Aisling what happened, as this is the second instance in a couple days.
Roland, Clementine, Karina, and Nate gather into Roland's car with Ghost, heading to Mount Sinai to get the young Kindred cured of the virus. Unfortunately, along the way, Ghost frenzies and his wild attack on the members in the vehicle cause all to frenzy other than Roland. Roland manages to safely pull the car over as the Kindred pile out, fighting on the side walk. Felix, who was heading through the streets back to the chantry, sees the attack and steps in to help.
Once Karina and Nate gather control of themselves, the gather up Ghost - knocked out from an attack by Felix with a collapsable trowel - into the trunk and head to the hospital. Angel has met up with Kim as they each received the wrong packages, the blood showing up to Celestial Customs and the parts showing up to the morgue. As the others arrive, Kim demands they all be tested in case anyone else has been infected. Everyone other than Ghost is clean and she administers the antiviral to the young Kindred.
Before morning, as all present begin to make their plans to head home, contact information is exchanged between the Kindred. Kim realizes that something seems wrong about the way the blood bags were labeled and mentions this to Angel and Nate. Felix, sensing a particularly disturbed spirit in the morgue, tells Kim he would like to come back the next night and try to reach out to the spirit, which as she showed him, haunted a corpse that was obviously attacked by something supernatural.
